Entrevista a Ricardo Trigo : Relatório IPCC- a culpa humana




(...)O novo relatório do IPCC vem "concretizar suspeições que existem há dez anos", nota Ricardo Trigo, e isso é importante porque "ajuda a tirar dúvidas a quem ainda as tivesse".
Se o mal está feito - se, mesmo que mudássemos a nossa forma de vida tal como a conhecemos, os efeitos vão continuar -, isso quer dizer que é tarde demais?
"É uma questão importante", sublinha Ricardo Trigo. "Muitos investigadores que trabalham nos melhores centros internacionais dizem que mesmo que no melhor dos cenários se conseguisse reduzir em 50 ou 60 por cento as emissões do gases com efeito de estufa é imprescindível gastar-se muito dinheiro em soluções tecnológicas que permitam aos países adaptar-se às novas condições. Se há um aumento do nível médio do mar, os países que têm costa precisam de pensar em medidas para enfrentar o problema."(in Público,26.12.2006)
